Saint Dnyaneshwar is his younger brother. Gahinath in the Nath sect gave Diksha to the Nivittinath.
Nivrutti's birth year is 1273 or 1268 years old. Nivruttinath was the eldest of the four siblings of Dnyaneshwar, Sopan Dev Muktai and Nivruttinath. Nivruttinath was the senior brother and teacher of Dnyaneshwar. Nivruttinath ordered Dnyaneshwar to write the poem that is in Sanskrit and write it to the common people. Accordingly, Dnyaneshwar wrote Bhavarthdipika (Dnyaneshwari).
Gahininaath was the teacher of Nivruttinath. Nivrutti's goal is Krishna. It has been said that Nivruttinath's only one of his abhangas has been destroyed. About three to four hundred Abhangs and one transcript of this type, definitely can be said of Nivruttinath. Yoga, Advaitaar Ani This is an unbroken, like Krishnabh Kittipar. They seem to be somewhat less in terms of ritualism; And Nivruttinath's reputation and importance are not as a poet, but as a guide for Dnyaneshwar. It is said about Nivruttinath that he gave 'his entire spirituality to Dnyaneshwar and gave him success and you retired from his success'. Dnyaneshwar has expressed his respect for him in many places. Nivruttinath was also accompanied by Dnyaneshwar in many pilgrimages with devotees. It is said that Nivatadadevi, Nivrutti and Shastri Gita were written by Nivruttinath. However they are unavailable. Ra M Athavale has given a nod to the book titled 'Nivratestswari'. Like Dnyaneshwari, this is a commentary on the song too. However, it is not yet proved that this book is of a new generation. In the Shri Samarth Vagdev Temple of Dhule, two handwriting such as 'Precise Bhagwad Gita' and 'Samadhi Bodh' were named as 'Nivruttinath'.
After the completion of Dnyaneshwar and Sopan Dev, Muktaini's 'Eating water gram' was made from Parlokas and soon afterwards Nivruttinath had also kept body in Trimbakeshwari. Their samadhi has been built there.
